Julie Hill holds prominent positions within a range of notable organizations. She is a board member at Anthem, a Fortune 50 company and the largest health insurance company in the U.S. She also serves on the Lord Abbett Family of Funds, a significant mutual fund management firm with assets totaling $230 billion, based in New York. Previously, she held a board position at Lend Lease, a publicly traded international construction, development, investment, and management firm based in Sydney, Australia, with a valuation of $7 billion.

 

In 1998, Julie Hill founded Hillsdale Development, a company focused on home building and land development in Newport Beach, California. Additionally, she established The Hill Company, which maintains a diverse portfolio of interests. From 1991 to 1998, she was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Costain Homes, a division of the London-based Costain Group, where she held senior leadership roles in the U.S.

 

Julie Hill also holds the position of Chair of the Board of Trustees at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She also served as the long-time Chair of the board of directors of Human Options, an organization providing shelter and support for abused women and children.

During her tenure as CEO of Costain Homes, the company constructed a domestic violence shelter recognized with a ULI award. Julie Hill is an active member of organizations like the International Women’s Forum and Los Angeles Trusteeship. Previously, she was a member of the Women’s Leadership Board of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Her dedication extends globally, as she has traveled to Burma to aid refugees and champion various human rights and women’s rights causes.

 

Julie Hill's involvement extends to Orange County Community Foundations, and she previously chaired the Paul Merage School of Business Directors’ Board at UCI. Her contributions have been acknowledged with awards such as the Amelia Earhart Award from the UCI Women’s Opportunities Center and the Glass Ceiling Award from the American Red Cross.

 

She holds a bachelor's degree in English from UCLA and a master's degree in marketing from the University of Georgia. Julie Hill resides with her family in both Newport Coast, California, and London, England. Her passions encompass women’s rights issues, with a focus on both developed and developing regions, as well as advocating for improved corporate social responsibility and integrity
